We have been customers for about a year now and have had both our cars worked on by Fidel. His patience in listening to our explanation of what needed work is only surpassed by the outstanding quality of the work completed. We know we can trust Fidel and when he says our cars are fixed, you can drive away knowing everything is AOK. Several months ago, we were driving 17 hours straight through from Baltimore and developed a sensor problem for the first time with the AWD shift. It was well after normal closing time and we called him hoping he would answer his phone. We knew he often worked late and sure enough, he answered and we explained that we were in Lake City and afraid to continue. The warning indicator on the dash said we were in 4L and 4H, not AWD which is impossible. After doing some checking, he assured us we would be OK to drive the final 100 miles. The owners of the shop actually work there! They are honest, knowledgeable, really take a personal interest in their customers, and they make sure their staff does too. I was taken care of efficiently and completely, and I never felt like they were trying to “up-sell” me on products or services that I didn’t need. While I was waiting in their clean, air conditioned waiting area, I watched one of the owners kindly inspect an older woman’s tires and put air in them and refused to take money for the time he took. You can hardly find a gas station anymore that offers free air for you to fill up your own tires! I will gladly drive the extra miles to Bob’s Auto Repair for my car maintenance because I know I will receive personal, reasonable, and complete service.Manda – September 19, 2009
I have a house in the area and drove down from NYS in February. Had a wheel bearing go bad on my Kia Rio. They got me in the next day. They fixed the wheel bearing, checked over the vehicle and I had the oil changed. My bill shocked me, as it was so reasonable! They are very nice people who care about their customers, something that isn’t always true in the auto repair business. It was especially comforting considering I knew no repair shops in the area. I do now and will be taking my vehicle (and recommending others) to their shop. It’s also neat to see the auto nostalgia, both in and out of the building. Great coffee as well! Save the second opinion and go here first!! Fantastic!! I took my Toyota Avalon to a local dealer and they advised me of a $1500 repair. My second opinion was at Bob’s Auto Repair. Fidel, the owner, made the inspection and explained everything in detail. His integrity shows thru. To my surprise it was a $400 fix. We saved so much money with the right diagnosis, that we were able to buy 4 new tires and get an alignment done with Bob’s Auto. This is my new Repair shop, no questions asked.
